Jamaican born Rolando Aarons joined Newcastle United after being released from his boyhood club Bristol City aged just 17. Aarons showed huge promise at Newcastle and in glimpses showed signs of making the leap from bit part player for an established first team regular. Most notably a fantastic goal against Manchester City in the League Cup.
Full of pace and good on the ball his career at Newcastle was blighted by injury however, something that saw him repeatedly loaned out for spells in Italy, Czech Republic, Sheffield Wednesday, Wycombe and Motherwell before finally departing on a free transfer in the winter of 2021 with the player apparently nowhere near good enough to be near a very poor Steve Bruce lead Newcastle team.
Aarons played 5 times for England U20s, scoring 2 goals.
