Gateshead born Waddle can be classed as a Newcastle and England legend. Working in a food factory Chris failed trails at Coventry and Sunderland before joining Newcastle in 1980. 191 games and 52 goals later, having played with Keegan and Beardsley in a fantastic front three, he disappointingly moved to Spurs. In a career that spanned over 20 years he also played 62 times for England. His appearances for the Three Lions included the infamous missed last penalty in the 1990 World Cup Semi Final against West Germany under Sir Bobby Robson.
