Born in Durham Billy started his career in Middlesbrough but is best known for his 8 years and over 250 games playing for Hull City. A brief spell at St James would prove to be his swan song and after a brief loan spell at Shrewsbury town he quit playing football at professional level. He later moved into coaching which included a time as part of the staff at Darlington.
