Born in North Shields, Adam started his professional career with Newcastle United having played his schoolboy football with the famous Wallsend Boys.

In 2012 he became the youngest player to represent the Magpies in Europe, making his debut against Atromitos in the UEFA Cup. But the young striker would only play 5 times for his boyhood club, just three of those in the league, before going on a series of loans (5 in total).

He would eventually move to Notts County as three seasons on the periphery of the first team at St James Park.

He would play 73 times in the league for County, scoring just 8 goals, a record that would see him moved on to Morecambe.

Adam might reflect on his career as something of a disappointment given such early promise. And when you consider he played for England at U16, U17 and U19 levels you can't help but wonder if he made the most of his talent.
