Playing for England youth teams all the way from U17 to U20, Ciaran is a Republic of Ireland International footballer, born in Harrow, England.
Picked up by the Aston Villa youth set up in 2000, Clark would play over 150 games for Villa between 2009 and 2015 before being sold the Newcastle United for just over £5m.
He would establish himself along side club captain Jamaal Lascelles playing under Rafa, Bruce and eventually Eddie Howe.
But in the influx of money into the club following the Saudi takeover of the club in 2021 would see the end of his career on Tyneside. The signing of Dan Burn in the Winter window and then the further strengthening in the form of Sven Botman in the summer of 2022 would see Clark pushed further down the pecking order.
With only a year left on his contract, and with Newcastle keen to remove fringe players from the books to make room for new signings, he was loaned to Sheffield United for the final year of his contract, meaning he would not pull on the black and white shirt of Newcastle again.
A solid player, Ciaran can certainly hold his head high when reflecting on his time at the club. A good servant and an excellent professional.
