Jeff was a rare creature in that he made the successful transition from Sunderland to Newcastle and is still fully respected by both clubs.

Playing over 200 games at Roker Park over a 7 year spell, having joined them from Manchester City, he would eventually be snapped up on a free transfer by the Magpies.

He achieved a top flight promotion whilst at Newcastle United during his five year spell at the club.

He dropped down the leagues before turning his hand to Physiotherapy where he would return to Sunderland as their Physio before moving to Leeds United and Dundee United in the same capacity.
