Crosson came through the Newcastle United youth systems but would never be of the calibre to make an impact in the first team.

He'd get his chance to prove otherwise in first the Texaco Cup in late 1973 and then in the League in the April / May of 1974.

A move to Darlington would be the ideal move for him and it would be there that he'd settle, playing 128 league games over a five year spell before finishing his career at Crook Town in 1980.
