Tony was the epitome of a 'journeyman' footballer.

He played for 14 clubs, no less, never staying more than three years at a club (Lincoln City) and most in spells of one of two years. In modern days football he'd have been an agents dream!

He would play just two seasons for Newcastle United. He was the fist black player to sign permanently for Newcastle United back when that was a 'thing'. His time at Newcastle would not last either as a lack of form and goals saw him singled out for special attention by the locals (4 goals in 47 league appearances tells it's own story for a striker), and he was on the move again, this time to Blackpool.
