Jack, to those who knew him, played just 5 league games for Newcastle United in the season of 1905 / 1906.

Born in Hexham he'd move on to Oldham, where he'd have a similar lack of game time before trying his luck at a number of other clubs including Barrow and Darlington.

He was a serving soldier during WWI
