John, or Jack / Jock as he as known to his friends, was a Scottish footballer who played only twice for Newcastle United. Findlay played less than 100 games of football, mostly in his native Scotland before his career was cut short following his enlisting with the Scots Guards in WWI, a conflict that would ultimately take his life.
