Emil became Steve Bruce's fourth senior signing of his first transfer window in the summer of 2019. Joining from French side Amiens, Emil joined Newcastle United just 5 days after his 25th birthday. On joining United Krafth had 20 full international caps already to his name and provided some much needed competition in the right back position with DeAndre Yedlin the previous first choice in that position until that time.
