Emil became Steve Bruce's fourth senior signing of his first transfer window in the summer of 2019. He joined Newcastle from French side Amiens, just 5 days after his 25th birthday.

On joining United Krafth had already amassed 20 full international caps already to his name and provided some much needed competition in the right back position with DeAndre Yedlin the previous first choice in that position until that time.

And that would very much be the story of Krafth career at Newcastle United. Essentially cover for whomever the first choice right back of the day might be. Indeed he'd also benefit from his versatility and be called into cover at centre half too at extreme times of desperation and the odd injury crisis at the club.

Never one to complain however, he's be a valued team member and popular in the dressing room and with the coaching team too.

In what would prove to be almost his swansong it was lovely to see him enter the Wembley pitch as a later defensive substitute as Newcastle United beat the Champions elect Liverpool 2-1 in the 2024/25 League Cup final.

52 full international caps and counting when he left the Magpies at the age of 31. A cracking pro and the kind of squad player every club needs!
