Newcastle secured the signing of one of Australia's best ever talents (according to much of the national press in that territory) in Garang Kuol just weeks before the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Garang would play in the tournament fleetingly as a substitute with the potential of the young man clear for all to see.

Upon joining the Magpies on the 1st January 2023 he was immediately loaned to Hearts in Scotland to provide him with a taste of British football but the signs from that point clearly indicated he was not going to make the grade.

He'd only play 8 league games for Hearts before returning back to Newcastle and being loaned out again, this time to Volendam in the Netherlands. This time he's get 13 league games, scoring once.

In the summer of 2025 Newcastle decided to cut their losses and the player was sold to Sparta Prague. You can't win 'em all.
