Sueng-soo signed for Newcastle United in the summer of 2025 from K2 league side Bluewings.

Cynically, some thought that (given the tiny fee) he'd been signed to curry favour with the locals as just weeks later United played a high profile friendly in Seoul. For Newcastle fans this was first sight we'd had of the lad and you could not fail to be impressed. Raw, but technically excellent, some would argue he was the best player in the Newcastle side that day.

He impressed to the point of being included in Newcastle's early match day squads as United canned any plans to send him on loan that season.
