Kenedy signs...
Newcastle completed their third signing of the summer, this time the capture of Kenedy on a season loan from Chelsea.
Whilst there is no option to make the deal permanent it is known that Newcastle had tried to tie down the player with a permanent transfer deal but failed to come to an agreeable price.
Kenedy had an outstanding spell at Newcastle following his January transfer to St James Park last season, starting 13 games and scoring twice whilst also providing two assists. Encouraging too that the player himself seems so keen on a return up north. The power of Rafa once more you’d think.
Rafa is well known to be a huge fan of the 22 year old and will no doubt be delighted that Lee Charnley has managed to bring the lad back to St James Park.
The fact the Newcastle were trying for a permanent move may also mean that there is money in the kitty for another winger now, with Townsend heavily linked in a proposed £17m move.
Newcastle were a different side with Dubravka (now on board long term) and Kenedy. Attention needs once more to focus on recruitment of that illusive striker with just over a month left in this transfer window. For now thought, Newcastle fans will just be delighted to get this one over the line.
