Jetro joins
Before the news many Newcastle fans had been hoping for in the for of the announcement of Allan Saint-Maximin there was a shock piece of business.
Rumours circulated early morning that not one, but two players were undergoing medicals prior to a move to NUFC.
The second player was long, long, long term target Jetro Willems.
The 25 year old Dutch International left-back joins from Fankfurt on a season long loan with an option to buy.
Jetro is well known at Newcastle. He posted a video of himself at SJP a couple of seasons back when he attended a game with former player Anita to watch Wijnaldum. He’d been on the radar of the Magpies scouting network for quite some time.
The youngest player to ever play in a UEFA competition, Willems is pretty versatile and as well as playing on the left of a defensive four he can also play wingback and in midfield.
