Wilson joins Newcastle United on 4 year deal

Newcastle United have today found a solution to their long running striker with the capture of Callum Wilson on a four year contract.

The 28 year old joins United from Bournemouth in a £20m deal after the Magpies fought off competition from a number of clubs, including Villa who had lodged a £21m bid for the player just days earlier.

'It is a massive club with a great history' said Callum in his first interview with nufc.co.uk as the club announced his purchase.

As yet there are also unconfirmed reports that Joelinton has been stripped of his nr9 shirt which will transfer to Wilson as part of the move.

The player also confirmed he'd been in regular contact with Alan Shearer since he gained his first England cap and joked that his son had been watching 'Goal' which of course is centred around a footballers career at Newcastle.

The striker is hopefully the top of an iceberg of much needed new recruitments at St James Park over the next day or two.

Welcome Callum. We can't wait to see you get started.
