Newcastle Utd 2-1 Wigan
Newcastle stayed top of the Championship this afternoon after a hard fought win over Wigan at St James Park.
Goals either side of half time from Gayle and Ritchie were enough to secure all three points and stretch their lead over 3rd placed Huddersfield who surprisingly lost at home to a late Burton goal 1-0. Although Brighton won, to stay one point behind the Mags, the gap to third is now 10 points with Huddersfield having just the solitary game in hand.
A good day all round then for Rafa and his men.
