Jamal Lewis deal on?
There we widespread reports today that a fee for Jamal Lewis has been agreed between Newcastle United and Norwich in the region of £13.5m.
The promising Northern Ireland international is currently away with his national team but if United can secure his services it will be quite a coup for Bruce with Leicester City and Liverpool both rumoured to have been interesting in signing the 22 year old.
Indeed it had been reported that Liverpool had seen a £10m bid rejected last month with Norwich apparently holding out for £20m for one of their prized assets. However, Newcastle today have seen a bid accepted by the Canaries and will be looking to get the left back tied down to a contract as soon as possible, with the season opener just 7 days away.
We won’t be counting any chickens just yet with more ambitious clubs now knowing the asking price and with money to spend.
