'Will' you just look at that. Again!

Liverpool 1-1 Newcastle United

Yet another Joe Willock late late show provided a hard working Newcastle with another precious point, this time at Anfield.

Willock, named on the bench once more, was given a little more time to shine coming on as a 60th minute substitute for Joelinton. But having just seen a Callum Wilson equaliser bizarrely chalked off for a 'hand ball' that never was the Magpies kept going and a headed knock down from Dwight Gayle allowed the on-loan midfielder to lash home with the keeper wrong footed by a deflection.

The game had started terribly for the Magpies. Salah once more proving a thorn in the sides of the black and white with a smart turn and finish after just 3 minutes.

And Newcastle had Martin Dubravka to thank for a string of good saves as the Red Men looked to build on their early lead, whilst being guilty themselves of wasting a clutch of chances.

But as the match went on Liverpool looked visibly nervous. And when Callum Wilson raced clear on 90 minutes Bruce's men thought they had their equaliser. Despite being pushed in the back when trying to finish inside the box, and the ball bouncing up off the keeper onto his upper arm (which was by his side and would have hit his torso anyway) the referee was asked to review the 'goal' by VAR and bizarrely decided to rule the strike out.

That should have knocked any remaining stuffing out of Newcastle. But back they came, and with the last kick of the match there was nothing Alisson, his teammates, the referee or VAR could do to cancel this one out.

Another brave performance from a team that somehow has found this fight under Steve Bruce?!

If only the away fans had been there to see it. Scenes!
