Rafa Benitez sent a tribute to the fans of Newcastle United via social media on the day his contract finally ran down and just before announcing his move to Chinese club Dalian Yifang.
In what appears a quite emotional open letter his thanks ‘those who supported him’ at the club and singles out the fans in particular.
His message clearly spells out that he was not supported by his Board.
In an interview published by The Time his love affair with the Magpies, and the City of Newcastle was highlighted further, a self declared ‘honorary Geordie’ no less, and I for one will not disagree with that.
