Andros finished the season with an average rating of 7.02 (out of 10) showing all the qualities you'd expect from such an exceptional talent. An outstanding season from unlikely hero Rob Elliot sees him finish in second with 6.6 closely followed by new boy Karl Darlow with 6.51, whilst our new centre back rock Chancel Mbemba just misses out on the top three places with 6.41.

These four, in your view, have been head and shoulders above the rest this season and who are we to disagree. In terms of quality and consistency they have time and time again proved their worth to Newcastle United football club.

At the other end of the scale a few of the lads will need to take a long hard look at their contribution. Needing at least three appearances to qualify the three ‘must try harder’ (or maybe just not good enough) players are Yoan Gouffran (4.49), Emmanuel Riviere (4.13) and Seydou ‘MIA’ Doumbia with a quite shocking fans rating of 2.25.

Somewhat worrying perhaps that our top three performers are a guy who joined in January and two goalkeepers (and not even the supposed first choice keepers at that). Yet with the transformation of Newcastle under Rafa Benitez and the form of England International Townsend clear for all to see in an unbeaten run of six at the end of the season it should not be too much of a surprise to many.
