New kids on the block
Two young players joined United today, both on free transfers, as work to bolster the next generation of young magpies continues.
20 year old Jake Turner, a goalkeeper, joins after leaving Bolton last season. Turner had loan spells at Stalybridge Celtic and Darlington and has been capped at U18 and U19 level for England.
Central midfielder Kyle Scott also joins the U23s squad. Scott had spent his entire youth career at Chelsea and pointed to the recent history to players like Sean Longstaff progressing to the first team as a reason why he felt Newcastle United was the best option for him moving forward. We’d certainly take the lad turning out just like that.
