Armstrong leaves for Ewood

News today that U21 England International and childhood Newcastle United fan, Adam Armstrong, finally made a permanent move away from the Magpies to join Blackburn Rovers.

In a deal that is said to be worth £2m, Adam rejoins the side he had a relatively successful spell with least season, having spent part of the season at the ex-Premier League Champions, scoring 9 in 21 games.

In 21 appearances for Newcastle United’s first team Adam never did get that illusive goal for the black and white at that level, but has consistently banged them in wherever else he’s been, including 17 in 26 at U23 level.

Yet another one of those lads that promised so much at youth academy level but never quite making the grade.

A shame to see him to but no doubt for the best for everyone concerned.

Good luck Adam.
